We are trying to fulfil our responsibilities with respect to society, the environment, customer or suppliers by orientating our actions on a long term basis.


Social responsibility


Social values as a promise for success
As an employer of about 300 people, Mifa plays an important role in the canton of Basel-Country. The Migros foundation idea of Gottlieb Duttweiler had a major influence on us, and therefore on our social values, like for example tolerance, respect and mutual support, these are not just words with us, but values that we live actively in our daily lives. Furthermore, fair wages, health support and further education are part of our company culture. Each individual person is the centre point and as such is the most important factor of success in our company.

The young people of today are tomorrow’s future
In our opinion the education of students plays a very important role. At present, we prepare young men and women for their successful final exams of their apprenticeships. Using specific department rotations, on-the-job programmes and the actual education at the vocational school we support our students in a purposeful manner. This commitment is really worth the while, as the young people bring a new life into the company with the knowledge they acquired and in this way they contribute to the company’s success.

Work integration places
We even go a step further with our social responsibility and offer some individuals, who would usually have very little chance to get a job in the normal working life, a possibility for integration.
